The representative of one of the oldest (the first representatives appeared in the Late Cretaceous) and one of the most widespread species (in our time found on all continents except Antarctica. Most species are concentrated in tropical latitudes) is the orchid.
This particular flower, the Phalaenopsis orchid, is a characteristic inhabitant of the humid plains and mountain forests of Southeast Asia, the Philippines and northeastern Australia.
Phalaenopsis are plants with a strongly shortened stem and wide leaves. The plant grows in only one direction - up. From the axils between the leaves, the plant releases aerial roots and peduncles. An adult plant usually has 4-6 leaves. Leaves are evergreen, 5-30 cm long. Some species have a beautiful marble pattern on the leaves.
Peduncles are long, often branching, in many species with a large number of fairly large flowers. The flower is shaped like a butterfly.
The set is realized in sizes M and L, which will allow using them in projects of scales 1/48 - 1/24. The set is not easy to assemble, requires experience with photo-etching, but will decorate any diorama or vignette about Southeast Asia. During the assembly of a plant of size L, we filmed a short video, which is now being edited and, hopefully, we will publish it soon. During the assembly process, it is recommended to lengthen the peduncle with wire.
